Dr. Stuart Shoemaker is a board certified veterinary surgeon with 34 years of clinical experience. Dr Shoemaker has been a managing partner at Idaho Equine Hospital; an 8 doctor referral equine surgery center. He is the director of the Equine Surgery and Sports Medicine division at Idaho Equine Hospital. Dr. Shoemaker has been an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and served as a board member from 2006-2009. He is a member of The American College of Veterinary Surgeons and an adjunct professor at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Shoemaker is a consultant for Boise State University and serves on the board for Research and Economic Development. He also provides counsel to the Animal Research Vivarium at Boise State University.

Dr. Shoemaker received his DVM from Colorado State University in 1984 and completed a surgical residency program at Louisiana State University in 1989. He became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1993.
